Blackberry & Lime Shrub Sour

In a shaker combine:

  • 2 oz bourbon/rye whiskey
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz blackberry and lime shrub (recipe below)
  • 2 dashes of our Lemon Bitters

Shake with ice, strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube and garnish with fresh blackberries!


Shrub recipe:

In a bowl combine:

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • The peels of 4 limes
  • 1 cup of cane sugar

Mash up the blackberries into the sugar then cover with saran wrap and leave in the fridge for 24 hours.  After 24 hours remove from the fridge and stain the liquid into another glass (like a mason jar with a lid).  Discard the solids and peels.  Into the glass container add 3/4 cup of red wine vinegar.  Shake the shrub well to ensure all the sugar has dissolved.  Keep the shrub refrigerated and it will last up to a year!
